Fellowship

ESPACIO’s paid fellowship is aimed at those with a passion for writing or journalism, to gain experience in the field working in our international newsroom. Fellowship writers receive mentorship while creating news stories and interest pieces for a number of our partner publications, on a variety of topics, with possibilities to write in English, French, Portuguese and/or Spanish.

For exceptional candidates there is the possibility of continued employment after completing the fellowship. To apply, candidates should send a writing sample and their CV to  hr@espacio.co.

Editorial

We have openings for talented writers with 2+ years of experience in editorial and/or journalism to create content for our partner publications in the international newsroom. Additional familiarity with WordPress, website design, editing, directing content, fact checking, or growing readership, are valued. Sales Manager

OVERVIEW
Publicize, a media relation PR firm, provides startups and small businesses the visibility and publicity they need to grow. Being a growing startup ourselves, we understand the unique needs of growing companies and work hard to give our clients quality results at an affordable price point.

We are looking for a savvy and driven Sales Manager to be part of our diverse international team headquartered in beautiful Medellin, Colombia. You will oversee sales by developing sales plans, meeting planned goals, and coordinating with our marketing department on lead generation. You will also be tasked with overseeing the activities and performance of your sales team by tracking sales goals, setting individual sales targets, and facilitate the ongoing training of sales associates.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be PASSIONATE about sales, take pride providing excellent service to clients, effectively lead our sales team, and have excellent communication skill. Previous experience in a sales-related role is a must.

GOALS

  • Manage, coach, recruit and lead a team of sales associates (2 at present)
  • Hit current sales targets and embed changes for improving targets monthly
  • Build and run a team which improves its performance consistently over time
  • Work with leadership and Account Manager, product, finance and marketing teams to see how the effect of the sales team could help them improve and hit their targets

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 2 years in a managerial position in sales, but ideally 4-5 years, with a track record of having improved team performance
  • Strong ability to lead and coach sales associates to higher performance
  • Ability to accurately forecast future sales volumes
  • Excel at selling intangible solutions into the B2B market; be an excellent LISTENER to truly understand client needs
  • Utilizing CRMs to manage team sales tasks, pipeline and closing sales
  • Must be a NATIVE English speaker
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus, but not required

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the company heads to set revenue and sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis
  • Tracking sales goals and reporting results as necessary
  • Develop and implement new sales initiatives, strategies and programs to capture key demographics; Understand our ideal customers and how they relate to our products.
  • Create innovative programs for upselling.
  • Become a mentor to the sales team and nurture relationships with each associate to help them achieve their goals
  • Coordinating with marketing on lead generation.
  • Though this position won’t require much travel, it is required to physically work from our Medellin office.

COMPENSATION

  • Base salary of 4.500.000 to 6.500.000 COP (pesos) monthly, depending on experience, plus a commission structure based on meeting predetermined targets.
  • This full-time position will also receive health and pension benefits as required by Colombian labor law.

PR Client Account Strategist

OVERVIEW
The role involves supporting an experienced PR account manager to deliver services for PR clients. Your daily responsibilities will require a mix of project management, researching outlets and journalists, media monitoring for news stories and opportunities, client relations and writing.

Experience in working with journalists or the media is beneficial, but not essential. You must be interested in current affairs and regularly read the news. We mainly serve North American clients, therefore fluent, professional-level English is a must. Please do not apply if you do not fulfill this requirement.

PR/Writer

OVERVIEW
The role involves writing top-notch content for clients – from up-and-coming tech startups to global corporations – across a range of industries. Your daily responsibilities will include writing well-research articles and press releases, as well as helping clients craft storylines for podcasts and video content.

As part of the editorial team, you will work with clients from the start to the end of the editorial process. We are looking for people with great communication skills, and creativity who are able to research trending themes, and help our clients come up with the most interesting, and original content ideas possible.

Experience in working in media is essential, as is the ability to recognize a strong story angle when you see it. You be able to thrive in a deadline-driven, fast paced environment. We mainly serve North American clients, therefore fluent, professional-level English is a must.

  • Writing press release and guest articles based on client media goals
  • Editing other team member’s work
  • Media monitoring across a variety of industries
  • Regular communication with clients
  • Working as part of a small team to help strategize PR campaigns for clients
