OVERVIEW
We are seeking for an experienced and driven finance lead to assist in the operating and development of our financial capabilities. The finance lead will be responsible for financial organisation, analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and planning. This role will have a high level of involvement and communication with Product, Sales, Marketing, Client Services and the two business leaders. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, high level analysis, strong Excel skills and knowledge of specialized financial software are a must to be successful.
GOALS
- Build a trustworthy and dynamic financial process inside the company, keeping in mind that as a startup, changes are always around the corner.
- Build a financial department from the ground up, and work closely with accounting to make sure we comply with local and international regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as payroll, invoicing, and other transactions
- Oversee any future financial department employees.
- Lead tax preparation, auditing, banking, investments, and other financial activities as necessary
- Track the company’s financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement
- Seek out methods for minimising financial risk to the company
- Research and analyse financial reports and market trends
- Provide insightful information and expectations to senior executives to aid in long-term and short-term decision making
- Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports
- Present financial reports to leadership, team members, employees, and clients
- Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes
- Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company
- Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting.
- 4+ years of experience in Financial Management.
- Effective and efficient problem solving and analytical skills.
- Effective presentation skills and experience working with executive leadership.
- Capable of working in a dynamic, fast-changing environment
- Ability to develop detailed financial models.
- Professional level of English and Spanish
- Ability to work in Medellin-based office
