Provocative English Discussion for Global Citizens

Saturday July 13th- Saturday August 3rd

This is your chance to not only practice English, but also engage in meaningful conversation about provocative topics! Students will participate in a teacher led discussion about each topic and have chance to share their own ideas and opinions.  In addition, students will learn vocabulary, watch videos and read articles. Iphones, social networking, Google glass! Today in this technologically filled world, some of us find ourselves using technology not only daily, but also hourly.  This class will focus on the topic of technology and how it has affected our lives.  Our discussion will look at the advances that have just recently occurred in the past decade, what it means to us, and what we can look forward to in the future.

Have you ever thought about what it would have been like to be born the opposite sex? In our class, “Gender in Modern Society,” we will discuss various gender issues from around the world and how, ultimately, our perceptions and beliefs are affected by whether we are born male or female.

What is Colombia’s role in current events? How does the world perceive this country and its people? These are a few of the questions that we will address in our class, “Colombia and the World.” This is the chance to discuss important current events affecting Colombia and to look at the future of the country and its contributions to the modern world.

Business Here and Abroad

Regardless of career, almost all of us are involved in some type of business.  In this entrepreneurial-minded city, many of us are focused on how we can constantly improve the businesses in which we work, and improve ourselves as leaders in the workplace.  This class will look at what is happening in ground-breaking companies, and how these strategies apply to those of us living in the most innovative city in the world.
